Yevgenly Timoshenko entered the APT Macau Final Table along with 257 other player and he won the Tournament, adding $500k to his wallet.  Timoshenko is 20 years old and  he  has won $2.3 Million in his Poker ventures.  I’m not saying that he is youngest Millionaire, however, he is doing quite well for his age, and I think anyone would agree with that.  Out of the 257 players, it came down to eight and it was very fun to watch.  With eight players at the table, tension was high, however, you could not see it on Timoshenko’s face.  For such a young player he has quite the Poker Face.

At the end of the tournament , it came down to two players, Yevgenly Timoshenko, and Joon Yeah, Yevgenly Timoshenko had an advantage as far as chips were concerned and this is what ultimately gave him the edge and to take it all.  Yevgenly Timoshenko is rising poker star who comes from Russia,a and he is very quickly making a name for himself.  After winning the tournament he made a comment to the crown and raised up the trophy.  He said that he was proud that he had won a major tournament and in the very last hand he did feel some pressure, however, his extra chips is what pushed him over the edge for the win.

Timoshenko also stated that towards the end of the tournament he was getting a little tired and had to take extra time per hand to make sure that he was making the right decision.  In addition, he also said that when he was holding the pair of Q’s and Yeah called him it made him a little nervous, however Yeah only had a K,Q.  When the flop came out and gave Yeah a almost perfect Flush, Yeah gained a little confidence, however, it was not enough because  Timoshenko’s pocket Q’s took it home.

Earlier in the game , Timoshenko had almost a 10.1 ratio lead with the chips, and this gave him the confidence that he would later use to complete the task at hand.  In the interview after the win he told  people that, when a player gets that kind of a lead in chips it makes the game very interesting, because no matter what kind of a hand you have, all you have to do is bluff your way through the game.  He also mentioned that he had to do that a couple of hands and he can not wait until he gets to watch it when he gets home.

Nancy Cartwright, the voice of “Bart Simpson”, is scheduled to host the 3rd Annual Monte Carlo Charity Poker Event. The charity event is being held to help the LAPD and all the proceeds are going to go to help high risk children.  The tournament is going to take place in September and it is to help fund a local non-profit organization that aims at helping children who are at high risks.  Monte Carlo Night is the name they are giving it and there will be Texas Hold’ em and a party afterwards which will have local LAPD officers speaking and giving out new ideas on how to keep the kids off the streets and give them productive things to do.

The actual event is going to take place on September 20th, and the buy-in is going to be $500, and the winner will win a seat in the next WSOP satellite event.  There are going to be many celebrities there and some of them that are going to be there are as follows, Kristie Allie, comedian Sinbad, he is always funny to watch, however, be prepared to cover your childs ears, comedian  Brad Garrett,  and actress Camryn Manheim.  There will also be a few pro poker players walking around and making appearances, to list a few, Todd Brunson,  Van Nguyen, Kenna James, Christy Gazes and many more.

The firsts PALS charity event was in 2006 and there were over 200 players at the event.  There goal this year is to push the envelope to over 500 players. The money that is raised will be going to a great cause and there really isn’t any reason why they can’t get the 500 people to show up.  There is going to a cigar bar hosted by Zeno Platinum, all day entertainment, as well as an open bar.  I will be honest, an open bar usually creates a huge turnout.

In the Online Gaming Industry there are rules that each player must agree to before playing the games.  Multi-Accounting is not allowed and will not be tolerated in the Online Gaming Industry.  Multi-Accounting is when either one player has two accounts with the same website, or when a player is involved in a Poker game with other players and the player switches players without anyone knowing.  You take a lesser skilled player and replace him with a professional player.  In addition, when someone is playing Poker and being coached, over the shoulder, this is also considered multi-accounting. 

Brian Townsend was a well know Poker player on Full Tilt, and recently admitted to using multiple accounts on Full Tilt.  he also has told people that he has done the same on the web site PokerStars.  Brian has been suspended from any playing on Red Pro for the next 6 months.  It is a common penalty to either be suspended from play when being caught multi-accounting or banned altogether.  Brian has done very well for himself while playing Online Poker as well as playing cash games, so to have been cheating is kind of a mystery.

Brian has been playing Poker for quite some time, and when someone is caught multi-accounting  they always have more to lose than to gain.  When people cheat in the attempt to make money it cheapens the thrill of winning and it does not feel as good when you win.  Brian has never been accused of this offense until now and he recently made a public apology in a Blog that he recently posted.  He apologized and said that he is an adult and will own up to his poor decision to do this and will man up and take responsibility and face the music.

Brian had made a few mistakes which had raised some suspicion, for example, he logged onto his poker hand account with a different screen name played a few hands, logged out, then logged back in with another name.  Due to this, this had caused a red flag and he was questioned about it.  As I stated earlier, Brian made an apology and he appears to be very sorry for what he did, and has told people he is sorry to whoever he has hurt.  With his knowledge in the game of Poker, he should have never made this mistake and says he will never do it again.

Bill Gazes can win when he is playing Poker whether he is playing cash of whether he is playing in Tournaments.  Not many Poker players have achieved this feet, most Poker players win at one or the other. Bill is current ranked in the ProRank 1 Position at 285 and he consistently is a factor at every tournament and game that he plays. Bill has won over $2 Million since he has started playing Poker for money and he enjoys every minute of it.

Bill is known for his unique style of play and that is he always has his headphones on while playing Poker.  He has been interviewed and asked about this, but he has never told interviewers exactly what kind of music he listens to while taking other players chips.  The first event that he ever won was back in April 1997, where he brought home $40k and placed 4th at the World Series of Poker 28th Annual. The most money he has ever won at a Tournament was back in November 2005, where he plaid 3rd in the World Poker Finals where he took home $760k.

Bill has only placed 1st one time and that was January of 2000, where he brought home $111k in the Carnival of Poker.   Most players don’t really see him as a threat, however, this is to his benefit. He has told interviewers that he prefers to stay in the shadows as long as he keeps on winning.  His past shows us that he can win and will win because he has brought home money in 59 of the Tournaments that he has entered.  He is the big fish but he is consistently winning and he really enjoys the game.

Bill is from New York and travels the world playing in tournaments, and when he dosen’t win he has the attitde that he that much closer to the next win.  He has been quoted by interviewers ” It is part of the game to lose, however, when I do, I am that much closer to the big win!”.  There are  lot of Poker Players that really get upset when they lose, and sometimes it is the amount that they have lost, but either way, Bill says, “It is called gambling for a reason, if you won every time it would be called Winning”.

When it comes to Professional Poker Players there are so many and so many players that have different styles of play.  There is a Poker player from Arkansas  and he is well known in the Poker Arena , Amarillo Preston, some people call him, Slim.  Slim was born in Johnson City, Ak. on New Year’s Eve 1928. Slim loves to bet on anything and does it. He grew up in N. Texas , Mineral Wells, and moved to-Amarillo after his parents got divorced. He has always loved the game of Poker and his Father taught him how to play when he was a young boy.

Slim served for our country in the Army as well as the Navy, when he was enlisted he served as a bookie for his fellow soldiers. Slim had a few good friends who played Poker and they always took trips around the world together , playing Poker and learning with and from each other.  They got so good that they made a pack to stay togeter and they became a unique trio-that was known around the world. Slim became know to the public first in 1972 WSOP Main Event.  He has been on Major TV Shows like Tonight Show, 60 Minutes as well as many Radio Shows.

He also been on some popular Game Shows and has become a Celebrity in the News and he has a very big following.  Some would say that he brought Poker to where it is today, and some people say that he is the Ambassador for Poker. After making a name for himself he started Hosting some of the World Series Poker Tournaments, and every one who listens and watches enjoys his commentary when the games are in session. 

While Slim was in Cartagena visiting for a Tournament he was kidnapped and once the kidnappers found out who he was they treated him like a King and gave him a Tour of the Country, he was safely returned.  He has always-been know for silly bet’s like he bet on a game of Ping Pong where they played with iron skillets and he also made a bet on a game of pool, where they used broom stick handles.  He is one of a kind and will always be known for his unique style of play as well as his funny bets.

Alan Goehring plays Poker for other reasons than to pay his bills.  Alan is retired from being a junk bond analyst and has done very well for himself.  He does not rely on the winnings from Poker Tournaments, he just likes the competition of the game.  Alan has won many of the tournaments that he has entered and is considered to be a very successful player. He also considers the game to be a intellectal challenge.

Alan has been a Professional Poker Player ever since he turned 37 years old and he has never won a bracelet at the World Series of Poker, however, he did place 2nd back in 1999.  It is rare to find a Poker player who really is not  it for fame or money, he just really enjoys the challenge of trying to bluff his way through the game.  He has 2, 1st place rankings and has won over $5 Million and keeps on trying. 

Alan has a ProRank Position of 2,633 and is constantly entering new Tournaments to get a better ranking. His most recent win occurred on 2/28/08 in the LA Poker Classic where he placed 35th and took home $33k.  If you look back at his winnings , the most he has won in one Tournament was back on 2/21/06 where he entered the LA Poker Classic where he won the whole pot $2,391,550, his second  most winning was back on 4/18/03 where he entered the 5 Star World Poker Classic and he won the whole thing $1,011,886.

Some people do not consider Alan to be a superstar, however, he has won his share of money while playing the game of Poker.  He has been able to see the world and do what he enjoys, Play Poker.  If you sat Alan down and asked him what he loves to do the most he would tell you that he loves to read peoples minds while he is sitting across from them at the Poker Table.
